Heal The World
Make It A Better Place
For You And For Me
And The Entire Human Race
There Are People Dying
If You Care Enough
For The Living
Make A Better Place
For You And For Me

These lyrics of Michal Jackson’s hit number Heal The World might just be what the people of Mumbai are thinking as the worst ever terrorist attack over the city has taken place last night, and continues, as I write this.
26 heavily armed men from the Deccan Mujahideen entered the city via sea and set off with a motive, a hateful ideology to bring Mumbai to a halt. Shootouts rocked entire south Bombay. Brave policemen lost their lives. Streets were covered in pools of blood. Two of the finest hotels in Mumbai terrorised. Commoners held hostage. Petrol pump blown up. Hotel set on fire. Grenades hurled. Hospitals gunned. Taxi blasted. Dog shot at. A hundred killed. Thousands injured.
Its 9.30 in the morning right now, and the streets of Mumbai are almost empty. Buses are plying without passengers. The usual peak hour trains are deserted. Not the average morning an average Mumbaikar is used to. Schools and Colleges are shut. Stock Market shall also remain closed. The carnage in Mumbai continues.
Right now, does it really matter of what religion the terrorist is ? Kill them, shoot them, maybe burn them alive, even though that is inhuman. This seige needs to stop. Muslims mere bhai hain, Hindu merey ghar waaley hainaurhumaara desh Hindustaan hain. Jahan main chain se jeena chahta hoon.

Is the world really going to the dogs ? Literally. Not just in Mumbai, but all across the globe. Not a day goes by when one doesn’t read the news of people dying, losing their loved ones; all because some extremists think they are doing their country and religion proud by undertaking these acts of gruesome violence. All I hope is that may the secular and reasonable minds prevail over the perpetrators of these despicable acts. All the 26 men who came to Mumbai are in the age group of 23-26. Young men probably with bright futures lost to the dark and heinous world of terrorism.
This is not a Hindu-Muslim war. Nor is it an India-Pakistan fight. It is a war, a jihad against the peace and sanity of the world, and the world leaders. Millions have lost their lives to terrorist attacks all over since the 9/11/2001 attack. How is the US war in Iraq and Afghanistan going to help ? If one man called Osama Bin Laden cannot be captured in 8 long years, what hopes do the citizens of the world have against these violent minds ?!
Coming back to India. About 6 serial blasts have taken place in the country in the last 6 months. What has been done to curtail these acts ? Every time something happens, all I see in the news is “PM is closely monitoring the situation”, “CM condemns the act”etc etc. Is condemning the happenings and sympathising with those affected only what these politicians can do ? I may also agree that it may be easier for me to write this than for them to implement it; but even a little improvement or management or handling of the situation would be greatly appreciated. Compare this to the Raj Thackeray episode. I Smirk. While I may even partially tend to agree to all what Mr. Thackeray says, and also agree to his stand against injustice to locals, is vandalism and violence to butcher innocent people the only way to go about the job? The government needs to act. Don’t such happenings shame them ? Or are these corrupt officials more focused on filling their pockets and taking holidays and garnering votes. While the terrorists were planning the attacks, the ATS was busy investigating a Hindu Sadhvi and Purohit.
The Indian Government is answerable. The media has done a fantastic job of streaming the entire episode. But just like me, there are a million other concerned fellow Indians, not just here, but all over the world. Questions need to be answered. The public voice needs to be heard. And the answers need to be made available to the general public. Wake up fellow Indians. It is our fight against terrorism too, because some day we might be the few unlucky ones bearing the brunt of a similar attack.
Now suddenly everything will be on “HIGH ALERT” till everyone falls back to sleep! How many months have passed since the last Ahmadabad, Baroda, Surat, Bangalore, Jaipur and Delhi bombings? Just 5 months…IS INDIA SO EASY TO ATTACK ? And top cops killed? Why? Because we have become soft targets. Sonia cares a damn as far as her votes keep coming. Is anyone actually bothered about us Indians ? You cannot talk sense and try to convince a person who is talking to you with an AK-47 in his hand. It is time to kill that person. Why haven’t the terrorists who had been caught been hanged yet? Why is Afzal Guru still alive ? They will only catch and keep on feeding them in jails, keeping them alive and so, their Muslim vote banks. Is this actually the case ?
Hello people, it is a war on our country. The government does not see that. They need to be killed. Hanged in public. Or do they undergo trials and court cases ? They’ll be happy to go with the latter. Because they have faith in the Indian Judiciary. If we as citizens elect Manmohan Singh and Shivraj Patil and Sonia Gandhi, we do so with a certain element of hope and trust. Incidences like this will only add to the hatred against them. I feel ashamed to see terrorists with AK-47’s and the police with lathis and obsolete rifles.
Humanity is being defeated at the hands of the ignorant. The fact that 16 armed groups of terrorists are roaming in the city is a clear example of what the issue is regarding our security. It is not the time for the congress to blame the BJP. It is time for India to do something. Our vulnerability is at stake. Jai Hind!
